LGBTQ+ Americans

In recent years, the United States has become more open to the LGBTQ+ community. The Supreme Court has legalized same-sex marriage in all fifty states, and people are becoming more open to using inclusive pronouns. Still, Americans have a great deal to learn in order to best support these individuals. This page also highlights the importance of the Stonewall Riots. Unfortunately, this event along with many LGBTQ+ activists are often excluded from curriculums or left to teach until the high school level. The exclusion of these topics nurtures a biased standpoint and leads to societal ignorance.
